there's a bluebird in my heart that wants to get out but I'm too tough for him...

A pleasure to meet you!

I'm Mikee Nguyen, a junior software developer and science-enthusiast at 28 years old.

Some of my hobbies include snowboarding, reading, video games, acting, and short-film production.

I graduated from UCSD with a B.S. in General Biology and a minor in business. I've worked as a research assistant for some of the labs at university and biotech organizations including the Salk Institute and BTS Research.

Home for me is Folsom, situated in Sacramento, California (go Kings!). Some of my memories from home include swimming in Folsom Lake and the American River, snowboarding in Tahoe, hiking beautiful trails all over the county, exploring Midtown, and even skydiving in Lodi! I graduated from Oak Ridge High School, located in the neighboring town of El Dorado Hills, in 2008. I transferred to UCSD from Folsom Lake College in 2010.

My time at UCSD was well-spent; I served as Co-president for the Biological Sciences Student Association (BSSA), as well as President for Phi Sigma Pi National Honor Fraternity. I was also a transfer orientation leader (Eleanor Roosevelt College) and a teacher aide for both lower and upper div evolutionary biology.

I was previously employed as a junior software engineer for TargetSolutions, a San Diego-based e-learning company that provides training and management resources for fire departments, police departments, EMS professionals, security firms, educational staff, and other similar fields in which safety and service to the public are top priority!

San Diego is my new home, where I enjoy the occasional run by the beach and plenty of good beer.
